AAR = ASIANA AIRLINES REPUBLIC OF KOREA

 

Pls. note that MSN 1356 entered a hailstorm this afternoon andhad to made an emergency landing in Seoul/Kimpo airport after severalunsuccessful trials. No pax was injured but acc. to verbal reportspax

realized that something was wrong, which was confirmed due to severaltrial to land the a/c. There was already something in the local media[TV].

 

A/C is now in AAR Hangar and access is restricted by the localauthorities.

 

Main damage:

 

Nose Radome is lost

Weather Radar islost and only some fittings remained attached to the bulkhead

Both Cockpitwindows are completely damaged/blind [Pilot had to open sliding window forlanding due to no visibility]

Side windows are also damaged

Both EngineNose cowls are damaged

L/E of Slats are dented

Both THS end caps are damagedand must be replaced

THS L/E damaged [dents]
